The Green-Wood Cemetery

No Longer Forgotten: Green-Wood Cemetery Honors its Civil War Veteransoutdoor exhibit, environmental design, printed materials and event photography

Until this project, approximately 1,200 Civil War veterans were buried in unmarked graves or have unreadable gravestones. Through extensive research and volunteer efforts, Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery, in collaboration with the United States Veterans Administration, provided proper recognition for all soldiers. Now, almost 3,000 are buried at the Cemetery.

The Artists Projectexhibition identity and graphics

Since the Cemetery’s founding in 1838, many artists have been attracted to its picturesque grounds and have chosen it as their final resting place. The Green-Wood Historic Fund collected artworks by these “permanent residents” and this exhibition presents a selection of such works. MZD created interpretive panels and graphics for a temporary exhibit in place for the Historic Fund’s annual fundraising gala.
