George Rickey Kinetic Sculpture: A Retrospectiveexhibition identity, signage, book, brochures, advertisements and photography

MZD was involved in all aspects of this traveling retrospective exhibition, from concept and planning two years in advance, through photographic documentation and assistance with all venues. The project included print and environmental design and marketing.

George Rickey Kinetic Sculpture: A Retrospectivephotography

For reproduction in the exhibition catalogue and marketing pieces, Marc Zaref photographed not only the artist’s sculptures, but his workshop, the homes of private collectors, and museums. Once the works were installed at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, Marc documented them on-site and produced a library of digital images currently in use by the George Rickey Foundation.

The Reality of Thingsexhibition identity, signage, catalogue, gallery guide and photography

The exhibition The Reality of Things surveys tromp l’oeil in American art. The theme is supported by the design of the catalogue which seeks to “trick the eye” as well. The softcover is disguised as a hardcover, and a curled endpaper is simulated. A closer look reveals the truth!
